Easy speed and distance for the Savage.
I rumble off on a couple of 1,000 km 2-3 day trips each summer - my 1989 Savage purrs through traffic - at highway speeds with no hesitation.
Last summer got in a rush and ran her 120-130 for 400 kms - gas mileage went to hell and she blew some oil past the seal on the exhaust side - but I was in a rush and she came though without hesitation.
The Savage is both a great starter's and continuing riders scoot - what she is not is a hotrod or crotch rocket.
IMO - a good bike - after 4 years I have absolute no regrets about laying my dollars down
Keep the rubber side down
